Living in Community has been working closely with the City of Vancouver since the beginning to address the health and safety of sex workers and the impact of sex work on communities.

Living in Community continues to work with the Vancouver Police Department to improve relationship-building with sex workers and to increase reporting. As of November 2017, the Provincial Sex Work Enforcement Guidelines below take precedent over the VPD Sex Work Enforcement Guidelines.
Commissioner Wally Oppal recommended the expansion of Living in Community to other communities within BC and, more recently, LIC has worked with the provincial government to create provincial sex work enforcement guidelines that will harmonize approaches in municipalities across BC.
