Registration

In order to meet the needs of varying learning goals, courses are available for purchase individually. However, discounts will automatically be applied at checkout for registering for two, three, or four courses.
For large employers/ organizations looking for a bulk group order for your team, please contact us.
Course One, Curriculum for Change, is a pre-requisite to Courses Two, Three, and Four. Therefore, you must register for, or have completed, Course One prior to registering for Courses Two, Three, or Four.
There are no other formal pre-requisites for our training, other than having an open mind and coming ready to reflect and to learn.
When you’ve completed your online registration, it will take you to a page stating that your order has been received. If this is your first time registering, shortly after you’ve completed the order you will receive your receipt to your email with instructions on how to access the course. If you’ve previously registered for other courses we offer, you can login using the link https://livingincommunity.ca/log-in/. If you do not receive a confirmation within one business day, please contact Living in Community.
You will receive the login details once you have registered. Payment is required in order to receive the login details. If you do not see the email with the login information in your inbox, or if you cannot log in from the login page linked above, please check your junk or spam folder.
Once we receive payment, you will have access to the training for 60 days. After 60 days, your access will expire.
If you cannot begin the course within the 60 day access period, please contact us.
The course is self-directed so you can complete the training on your preferred day(s) and time(s) provided it is within the 60 days access period. This means you can start and stop the training at any time, within the 60 days, to complete it however works best for your schedule.
We ask that you purchase the training for each person that will be completing it. Living in Community offers group rates for organizations registering more than one person, as well as a sliding scale for smaller organizations.
You will need to have a computer or mobile device with speakers. For best user experience, laptop/desktop usage is highly recommended. Mobile user-experience may vary. A strong internet connection will result in the best training experience.
Training
No, all the instructions and information you will need to complete the course is provided throughout each exercise. However, we provide a number of resources that you can download to reference afterward.
Yes and no. Courses one to four are not facilitated live. However, the quarterly follow-up discussion is live and you can speak directly to the trainers.
No video or audio of you will be recorded or viewable. Your answers will be anonymous unless otherwise noted throughout each course.
You will be able to see an animated narrator. She will guide you through the course, which is a combination of: reading, listening, and self-reflection exercises; case scenarios; and multiple choice and short answer questions.

These courses are not intended as a one-time certification, but rather, a foundation for continued learning.
Live Follow-Up Discussion
No, but we highly recommend attending it. In over 10 years of in-person training, we have found that the group discussion of how participants have/will implement their newly gained knowledge is one of the most impactful parts of the training. We have tried to replicate this powerful sharing experience in our online training.
After you complete your online course, you will automatically receive an email with instructions on how to register for an upcoming live follow-up discussion session. If you do not receive an email within 48 hours, please contact Living in Community.
Once you register for the live follow-up discussion, you will receive the Zoom login details which you can download and save to your preferred email or calendar. If you do not see this email in your inbox, please check your junk or spam folder.
Living in Community offers four live follow-up discussions per year. You can register for a live follow-up discussion within one year of registering for the training. You will receive the link to sign up for an upcoming live session once you complete an online course.
The live follow-up discussion is 60 minutes in length.
Yes. There will be various ways of interacting with not only the trainers, but also other training participants as well, including verbally and through the Zoom chat feature.
Yes, you are encouraged to have your video on during the live follow-up discussion as it increases the quality of the interactions between participants and the trainers as well as in the breakout discussions.
As this is Living in Community’s first year offering online training, it is difficult for us to predict how many participants will attend the live follow-up discussion. However, to better facilitate group interaction, participation is limited to 30 participants; extra discussions will be added if required.
No.
No. The live follow-up discussion focuses on participants’ experiences of implementing the training.
No. As the follow-up session is a discussion, there will be minimal slides used.
No, but this may change in the future if the need is identified.
The live follow-up discussion is offered via Zoom. Prior to joining the Zoom meeting, please make sure you have installed the Zoom desktop application. Zoom functions best with the application installed, but the meeting can also be accessed through your computer using your web browser.
For an optimal Zoom experience, we suggest that you participate in these workshops using your computer, instead of a mobile device. If you have no other choice but to use your phone for the workshop, you can download the phone app.
We highly recommend that you have a webcam and microphone during the Zoom workshop, so you can fully participate in all the group discussions.

The Zoom security measures we take include:
- A unique password for each virtual training
- Screen sharing by participants is not enabled (only the host can share their screen)
- File transfer is not enabled
- The waiting room feature allows us to monitor who can join the meeting
- The host can easily remove anyone from the meeting if needed
- The link to sign up is only available to those who have completed an online course with Living in Community.
You can register for a live follow-up discussion within one year of registering for the training.
Specialized Training
Yes. Living in Community can provide in-person or online training on topics that are not covered in courses one to four, or an aspect of the online training that you would like to examine in greater depth.
Yes, we can tailor training to fit your unique context.
Yes, we can come to you provided you pay travel, accommodation, and per diem expenses.
We can often find availability on short notice. However, in order to secure your preferred training date, it is best to contact us six weeks to three months in advance.
Living in Community will meet with you to understand your training needs and then work with you to create a proposal that fits within your budget.
We can accommodate any group size but 10-30 participants is ideal.
At this time, Living in Community does not provide certificates.
