Who is Vulnerable

It is a common misconception that young people’s socioeconomic status and family life determine whether or not they are vulnerable to sexual exploitation. In fact, all young people are vulnerable, especially at crucial times in their development. Transitioning from a child to a pre-teen and then to adolescence is an exciting and awkward stage of life with many challenges.

Although there is little information about the ethnicity of sexually exploited children and youth overall, the significant over representation of Aboriginal youth has been well-documented.
